Sausage in Polish Sauce - Kielbasa W Polskim Sosie

A delicious way to serve polish sausage.
SERVES 4
Ingredients
- 1 (1 1/2 lb) ring Polish sausage
- 2 cups beer
- 2 cups water
- 2 onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/2 teaspoon maggi seasoning or beef bouillon granules
- 2 teaspoons vinegar
- sugar, to taste
Directions

Simmer sausage and onion in combined water and beer for 20 minutes.2
Brown the butter and blend in flour.3
Slowly add 1 cup of liquid strained from the meat.4
Stir until thoroughly blended. If sauce is too thick, add more liquid.5
Add Maggi extract, vinegar and sugar to taste(brown sugar may be substituted).6
Slice the sausage, pour the sauce over it,.7
and serve with boiled potatoes.

This was very good and super easy to make. I used Budweiser for the beer and Kielbasa Polish Sausage. I loved the flavor that the beer added to the sauce! The sauce hinted at a sweetness (from the beer) and was savory at the same time. This is a great Polish Sausage recipe and I will use this one again. Zaar World Tour 4. Whine and Cheese.

This was easy and yummy! My family will love this on cold winter nights. A definitely comfort food main dish! Served this with a lovely sauerkraut and apple side dish. Thanks! ZWT4

You dont have to be Polish to enjoy this sausage! I used Dyngus Style Polish Sausage (Kielbasa), Guiness Draught beer and 1 extra large onion. I used my electric skillet so it took a little longer than 20 minutes to cook the sausage. Kept the sauce on the thicker side and sliced the sausage into bite size pieces. The only thing I would do different is not use a heavy dark beer again because the sauce was a bit overwhelming for the sausage. I used apple cider vinegar and about 1 tablespoon of sugar. Served with Studentchef's Broccoli-Potato Casserole and had a wonderful dinner.
