This is a family recipe that my grandma always has to make at Thanksgiving. She's not allowed to bring anything else! Usu. I use margarine, but I would recommend sticking wtih the butter in this recipe for the best flavor.

Excellent easy tasty recipe. I cut way back on the butter and it was still delicious. The beans were still a bit crunchy - just the way I like them. Unfortuneately I didn't have any green onions but I finely chopped up shallots. I cut the recipe back to two servings with no problem This is a lovely side dish to serve with any meal. Thanks Cheeseheas for posting
