Two vegetables that are dear to my dining room table! This recipe, however, is current & comes from the 13 Mar 07 issue of Woman's World. It's just one more way to jazz up these two veggies!

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Bring large pot of water to boil.
  2. 2

In large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  4. 4
Add garlic, minced onion, salt & pepper, & cook until garlic is softened, about 1 minute.

Add 2 tablespoons of water & the broccoli & cauliflower.
  6. 6
Cover & cook, stirring occasionally until heated through, about 5-6 minutes.

This was good and easy to make. I cooked my veggies a bit too long so they were a bit mushy but that was my fault. I followed the recipe as written other then I didn't add the parsley. This was a nice, easy, tasty side dish.

I steamed my veggies, but am just getting used to my bamboo steamer, so they got a little mushy, but the kids ate the whole thing (stalks and all!) Nice change to plain broccoli and easy to make.
