Tasty and filling soup! We really enjoyed this topped with the parmesan and a few tortilla chips. I did take a few liberties with the recipe. I added the celery and 2 tbsp of minced garlic when I browned the ground beef. Also, because I had some leftover, I added about 1 1/2 cups of cooked shell pasta. I could have sworn I had onion soup mix in the pantry (don't you always have it in the pantry?) but needless to say when I went to grab it, it could not be found. I used beef broth instead of the water to make up for the difference. Thanks Engrossed for a wonderful soup!

DH made this for me tonight as I'm under the weather. It really smelled good as it was cooking. I think I'd like more oregano and basil in it next time. Made for Zaar Stars game 2008

Wonderful and very easy soup to prepare! I doubled the heartiness by using beef broth in place of the water, otherwise I made as directed for a wonderful and very tasty soup! I will hold on to this recipe for the future to make again! Thanks so much, Engrossed, for this great recipe : )

Everyone enjoyed this soup tremendously. I loved how easy it was to prepare. I added about 2 cups of extra water and let the soup simmer for a few hours until dinner. I also added about a cup of leftover cooked rice to the soup because I needed to do something with it. We ate it exactly as described the first time and it was excellent. The second bowls were topped with grated Cheddar Cheese and that was OMG Excellent!!! I halved the recipe and believe that 1/2 the recipe is more like 8 servings. I will be making this again! Good Luck Chef!!!
