If you are not on the WW program you might want to adjust amounts to taste, for Weight Watchers this dish is 8 servings/3 points each

SERVES 8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    Heat oven to 375 degrees.

    Coat a 2-quart baking dish with cooking spray.
  3. 3
    Melt butter in a large frypan over medium heat; add in onion and cook stirring occasionally until onion begins to brown (about 5 minutes).

    Stir in flour, then slowly add in milk.
  5. 5
    Add in potatoes; stir to mix; bring to a boil.
  6. 6
    Stir in 3/4 cup cheese, salt and black pepper.
  7. 7
    Pour mixture into prepared baking dish then spread out.

    Bake for 1 hour uncovered.

    After 1 hour cooking time cover with foil and continue to bake another 20 minutes more.

    Change oven to broil heat.

    Sprinkle the remaining cheese over potatoes and broil 6-inches from heat until the cheese is golden (about 1-2 minutes).

    Cool 5 minutes before serving.

    We really liked these. I served them with the WW salisbury steaks. Absolutely delicious!! Thanks for another good recipe.

    WOW!!! Should be more than 5 stars!! Only problem with this recipe is that it made only 4 servings for us (4 BIG servings as we couldn't stop eating it!!!). Used low-fat mozzarella. Thanks so much Kit for another great recipe!!

    This recipe tastes just perfect! Great for the cheese and starch craving, LOL! My entire family enjoyed these very much! I fixed these potatoes with the weight watchers Pork Tenderloin with mustard sauce Pork Tenderloin with Lemon Mustard Sauce - WW 5 Points. I will make again, possibly even seeing if this can be done as a make ahead and freeze side. I have even wondered, while these were baking about putting in some lean ham chunks to make a main dish meal out of them. Add a veggie and a great meal! Thanks for sharing Kitten!
