Slow Cooker Meaty Pasta Sauce

This thick, rich meat sauce with a little spice cooks all day and smells amazing. Packed with beef and pork, its a real crowd pleaser.

SERVES 6 -8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    In a frying pan, brown ground beef and pork chops.
  2. 2
    In a blender or food processor, blend the Italian tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato puree, sugar, salt, pepper and oregano.

    Add beef, pork, tomato mixture, red pepper flakes and bay leaves in slow cooker.
  4. 4
    Cook for either 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low setting.
  5. 5
    Serve with pasta.

I thought it was OK. I would strongly suggest adding at least 3 ounces of tomato paste, some garlic, basil and pasrley, very important staples for a pasta sauce

    Great crock pot recipe! I added some garlic (because we love garlic) and used a little less red pepper flakes than it called for. We found it was a good amount of spice even though it was less than the recipe called for.
