Honey Corn for the BBQ / Grill

Recipe #202194 | 35 min | 20 min prep | add private note

Recipe inspired by Fresh BBQ Corn With Honey Butter that I changed to make cooking on a BBQ or grill a quick and easy option. Note the preparation time includes cooling time for the butter, and you can pop back in the fridge after wrapping the corn so it is quite quick and easy to prepare.

SERVES 4 -8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Place butter & honey in a cup or small bowl and microwave for around 30 seconds until just melted.
  2. 2
    Stir through garlic and pepper.
  3. 3
Leave to cool 15 minutes or so in fridge.
  4. 4
(optional step) Cut ears of corn in half.
  5. 5
Brush mixture evenly over the corn and wrap in aluminium foil.
  6. 6
Cook over pre-hearted BBQ plate or grill 15-20 minutes over medium - high heat, turning often. The foil starting to turn brown is a sign it's been long enough in one position and should be turned a little.

What a nice change! It was very easy to prepare. It did take longer to cook though. I will make this corn again!

This was pretty good! I love cooking corn on the grill. This is a wonderful addition to the recipe book. I think next time I will make extra butter, just in case I want to slather it on after cooking as well. Thank you very much for the recipe.

Made this without the garlic and added more honey - I didn't really measure -(this is such a fabulous recipe you don't have to) I had a heavy duty foil shet for each ear of corn then smeared each one with butter...sprinkled a little pepper on each then squeezed out a tablespoon or so of honey on each ear. Then rolled 'em up and let 'em go on the grill - not too high.... I don't know what happens to the honey because when they are done no one in the world would ever guess that there had been honey put on them... they are not sticky and the honey turns watery and then gets absorbed...great for corn that is not the sweetest. This recipe is drop dead fabulous !!! Next time I will plan on cooking extra to cut off the cob and use in a salad for the next day. YUM
