Perfect for a buffet party because it turns salad into a finger food!

SERVES 12 , 24 boats (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Salad Dressing

Salad

Pasta

Directions

  1. 1
Assemble the salad dressing an hour ahead, so the onion and salad dressing have time to blend but the onion is still crunchy.
  2. 2
Bring the water to a boil with the salt. Add the pasta and cook for 12 minutes. Drain immediately and cool completely.
  3. 3
Chop the romaine, tomatoes and pepperoni. Drain and add the olives. Crumble the cheese over the salad.
  4. 4
Toss the salad dressing and salad. The dressing will be clumpy. Add the dressing a little at a time, being careful to not add too much.
  5. 5
(I usually spoon out the onions with a large non-slotted spoon. I use the dressing that comes along with the onions, leaving any excess dressing for another day.).
  6. 6
    Fill the pasta shells.

The grocery store was out of jumbo shells, and pushed for time I grabbed up some Rotini Twist pasta and served it as a salad. It was a wonderful marriage of flavors and the texture was great also. thanks for sharing puppitypup.

Well this was a wonderful little item to enjoy and devour! I had never heard of these, but now I am so glad I was able to try this recipe. I will be making this for the second time this Saturday. The pasta shells were easy enough to put together, and put the salad pieces into. I used half the dressing and kept the extra for use later on in the week. Don't hesitate to pop these right into your mouth, and enjoy! Thanks, puppitypup!

I loved your recipe...Omigoodness...I am definitely going to make this again and again. I used feta cheese and did not add pepperoni as all my other foods had meat and I wanted one veg gie dish.

These are so delicious with a wonderful combination of flavors. I made these to eat while watching the Super Bowl and they were a big hit. My family thoroughly enjoyed them. This is a very impressive appetizer to serve to guests or take somewhere for a potluck.
