Homemade Italian Salad Dressing

It's easy to make your own salad dressing and far cheaper than buying it.

Ingredients

  • cup salad oil
  • 1/3 cup wine vinegar
  • teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano leaves, crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Directions

    1. 1
      Combine all ingredients in a jar with a lid; cover and shake to mix thoroughly.

      Let stand at least 2 hours to blend seasonings.
    3. 3
      Shake well before using.
    4. 4
      Wonderful on Italian lettuce salad.

    It was an easy recipie, so I know I didn't mess it up, but I did not like it at all! It had an odd taste, was way to heavy, and wine vinegar overshawdowed everything else. Sorry, but this one did not do it for me.

    I used Splenda in place of the sugar and i added a generous amount of cayenne pepper. Very good dressing and I love the fact that it's very low carb.

    Excellent dressing! I used red wine vinegar and added 1/4 t cayenne pepper to add a little zing. We really loved this and it is a lot cheaper than buying off the shelf. Thanks Darlene.

    Really good recipe. I substituted a packet of sugar substitute for the sugar and used red wine vinegar. Also added an extra clove of garlic to ward off any vampires. Yum!
