My grandmother also made these for me when I was a preschooler and she babysat me, only mine were always open faced. I always requested them by asking for "bread, BUTTER, peanut butter and jelly". I just wanted to make sure she didn't leave out the best part. Thanks for sharing!

This is the way I make my PB & jelly sammies, too! Only, I prefer my ww bread slightly toasted (and warm)--yum!

I gave this 5 stars. My gram used make yummy peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. She would spread a thin layer of margarine or butter on the bread then peanut butter & jelly. This is a yummy way to make sandwiches and brings back memories. Thanks for posting! Christine (internetnut)
