I love simple recipes and I love black beans and onions, so Voila- perfect recipe!

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    Melt the margarine in a skillet over medium heat.

    Add the onion and sauté for 5 minutes.

    The onion should stay crisp, not brown.
  4. 4
    Add the beans and cook for 3 - 4 more minutes.

    Season with salt and pepper.

This is very easy! I used olive oil in place of the butter. This is a great basic recipe that can be kicked up easily with cumin, peppers, cilantro, corn....... I served this over Cilantro Rice

    Delicious! Simple! Thank you! {grins} I used some leftover bacon grease, which gave the beans a smoky flavor that just made them all the better.

    I started a diet today and since this dish is a lovely 1.4 WW points I gladly made it to eat with dinner. Simple and Easy. I would add some garlic powder to it next time... but it is what it is... simple. simple. simple. Thanks Remembering Amy!!! Zaar World Tour 3
