Cajun Maple Mahi-Mahi

Recipe #187367 | 15 min | 5 min prep | add private note

By: Krystal-Belle

This is so good! I looked for a good recipe for maple glaze for chicken or fish or whatever that had the ingredients that I had on hand, but I just couldn't find the right one, so I created this extremely simple recipe myself and it was a success. I guess sometimes, to find the right answers, you have to look within!

SERVES 2 , 2 filets (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Mix all ingredients together except for fish. Spoon mixture over fish.
  2. 2
Place fish into shallow pan (sprayed heavily with cooking spray) and sautee with onions if desired for about 3-5 minutes on the first side and 2-3 minutes on the second side. Add more of the syrup mixture if you want.
  3. 3
    Best served with rice.
  4. 4
***Can also marinate fish for a few hours for maximum flavor.

We made this last night and loved it! It marinated for about 3-4 hours, and it was FULL of flavor -almost too much really. It doesn't need long. I squeezed some lemon on it before pan searing it and made a simple pan sauce with chicken broth, some lemon zest, and a little honey. Hubby said it needs to become part of the regular dinner rotation. Thanks!

This actually marinated longer than I'd expected, since my dinner plans were unexpectedly changed after I'd put it all together to soak. Grilled it up the next night, and it was delicious. It was much more mild than I was expecting based on the ingredients. I'll probably kick up the spicy a little bit next time. My teenager doesn't like spicy and will comment on it any time he encounters it, and he didn't even say anything about this one. maybe my spices are going stale.

Very easy & good. I sauteed 2 cloves of garlic & some green onions in butter before adding the fish. I also sprinkled lemon juice on the fish before cooking to get rid of any fishy taste. I will definitely make again. Thank you for posting!
