Kids of all ages love this! If your butter is highly salted then omit the pinch salt. I also added in some cinnamon and raisins but that is optional! You can also make this in the microwave, I use an 8-cup pyrex measuring cup for this, just remove a few times and stir. My family loves this hope you do too! I top this with a bit of 18% cream and sprinkle with a sugar/cimmamon topping, SOOOOOO good!!! the recipe is enough for 2-4 servings but I can eat the whole thing myself lol!

SERVES 2 -3 (change servings and units)

    In a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the egg with milk, brown sugar, pinch salt and cinnamon (if using).

    Mix in the oats; bring to a simmer.

    When the oats begin to boil, cook and stir with a wooden spoon until thickened.

    Remove from heat and stir in the butter until melted.
  5. 5
    Serve immediately.

    Oh Kitten - this is deeeeelicious! I used skim milk and irish oats, cinnamon and a light butter spread with omega 3. Wow!! this really is a good, hearty meal that will be good for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

    Made this today for my breakfast and I loved it. I did make some changes though - I reduced the amount of sugar and added a heaping tablespoon of smooth peanut butter. Wonderful!

    This was a different way of eating oatmeal. I made mine sugar free with Splenda brown sugar and lower fat with 1% milk and 2 egg whites instead of an egg. Flavor was great.
