Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos

Recipe #186233 | 45 min | 15 min prep | add private note

These are always a hit, even for those who don't like hot, spicy things. Easy to make and very tasty. The cream cheese provides a soothing contrast to the jalapenos. The serving number depends on how many of these each person can scarf down!

SERVES 6 -12 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Wash Jalapenos and slice in half lengthwise.(I always like to slice right through the small stem too. It makes for a nice presentation).
  2. 2
Remove the seeds and white vein part (The more seeds and the more vein you remove, the milder it will be).
  3. 3
Place Jalapeno halves hollow side up on a platter.
  4. 4
Cut Cream Cheese into rectangles and put one rectangle into each Jalapeno half (completely filling the Jalapeno).
  5. 5
Wrap each Jalapeno with a strip of bacon (I usually stretch out the bacon with a knife first so it will be longer for wrapping).
  6. 6
Transfer the wrapped Jalapenos to a lightly oiled baking sheet and bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes or until the bacon looks done.
  7. 7
    ENJOY! :).

These were the hit at our Super Bowl party. I added some shredded chedder cheese to whipped cream cheese for the filling. ALso, I cut the bacon into halves before wrapping around the jalapenos. These were great, can't wait to try grilling them next time!!!

Wonderful! I found that 1/3 piece of bacon was just enough for each pepper. Be sure to wear gloves. You can easily make these ahead by cooking them most of the way though and then broiling them for just a minute or teo before serving.

I love this recipe- have been making these for years. Always a hit. I do blanch my peppers after cleaning them, and I add some other things to my cream cheese filling- shredded cheddar, chives, and crisp bacon chopped very fine (I use the food processor). Some work to put together, but they disappear fast! Thanks for posting.

Great recipe! I'd like to add you'll need plastic gloves if you don't want to have 'chili hands'.
