From Bon Appetit's RSVP section, Lindbergh's Crossing, Portsmouth, NH. These go together fast since you don't peel the potatoes.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Place potatoes and garlic in heavy medium pot. Cover potatoes with water. Add 1 teaspoon salt. Bring to boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium; cover and simmer until potatoes are tender when pierced with skewer, about 25 minutes.
  2. 2
Drain. Return potatoes and garlic to pot. Add whipping cream and butter. Using potato masher, mash until well blended. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

These are very tasty. My family loves mashed potatoes. I made this with My Father's Beef Stroganoff. I followed the ingredients per recipe. Made for Zaar Stars

Excellent! I lived a few miles from Portsmouth, and never heard about this restaurant. I can see why they serve these luscious taters there though. They are wonderful! I halved the recipe and peeled the potatoes. I used white potatoes instead of the reds. This will be added to my favorite recipes pile! Thanks for sharing Lazyme. Linda Made for Zaar Stars Tag Game.

Superb! The flavor is just right. I served this with Balthazar's Braised Beef Ribs, and it worked very well together!

Perfect!!! The only thing I changed was to use russet potatoes.
