This is great comfort food. The slight sweetness to the broth is wonderful. This is definitely a keeper.

Made this today. We bought a huge sirloin roast, so I cubed 2 pounds of that meat. Left out the mushrooms and onion because I don't like them, and then used 1 tbps. of butter and 1 tbps. olive oil to brown the meat. Other than that - didn't change a thing - very flavorful! Thanks!

This is the best beef stew I have ever had. It was so easy to make. I added a little bit of white cooking wine. I did not have any beer so I added another cup of beef broth. I would make this anyday. I think I almost ate the whole pot by myself.. LOL

What a wonderful recipe!! I added a bit of salt to mine and some turnip. The sauce was thick and very tasty. Next time I might add some fresh green beans. Great dish!!
