Coconut Chocolate Truffles

Recipe #185155 | 30 min | 10 min prep | add private note

I’m not very good at making cakes so whenever I needed to bring a plate of sweets to a morning or afternoon tea, I would make these. They are so easy to make. My daughter helps me rolled the coconut on the balls. Enjoy.

Ingredients

Topping

Directions

  1. 1
Crush the biscuits in a food processor until it is fine (like flour).
  2. 2
Combine in a large bowl, the crush biscuits, 1/2 cup of fine desiccated coconuts and 2 tablespoons of cocoa. Mix the ingredients well.
  3. 3
Then slowly stir in the sweetened condensed milk into the mixture. (Don’t pour the whole content of the can, pour it in slowly as you only may need 340 grams of the can).
  4. 4
You know you have the mixture right if the mixture is a dough ball. (If the balls are not holding shape then you may used too much sweetened condensed milk.) You should be able to roll them into a ball without being to hard or to soft.
  5. 5
Shape the mixture into one-inch balls.
  6. 6
Place the 1/4 cups of fine desiccated coconut into a flat plate (You may not need the whole 3/4 cups so just fill the flat plate when needed).
  7. 7
Roll the ball into the fine desiccated coconut.
  8. 8
Store in refrigerator until your ready to use.

The taste testers at the DS's recreation group felt that they were a bit dry but other than that were quite good. The packet of Marie biscuits I bought were 200 grams and as the only other plain biscuits I had were Chocolate Ripples, I added 50 grams of those and didn't use all the condensed milk but it seemed to come together well and was extremely easy to make, so next time will use all the milk and see how they are received. Thanks Chef floWer. Made for Edition 2 - Make My Recipe - a game of tag.

I had lost my recipe for these so I was happy to find yours here on zaar. I made it as suggested except had to use the full 395g tin of condensed milk to get the mixture to come together into balls. The end result was perfect and delicious. A couple of these go nicely with a cup of coffee.

Thank you sooooooooo much for this recipe! I've been searching for a recipe similar to this one which includes milk and butter in the ingredients but this one is much simpler and tastes the same! "YUM"!! The only thing i did different is crush the biscuits to bits because i like to taste the biscuit peices in it. Excellent Truffles!! I will be using this recipe regularly. I made these truffles last night for a dinner party, they were Delicious and a huge favorite and by today they were all devoured. THanKS Chef Flower
