Friday Fish and Chips

It is a tradition at my school that every friday lunch we have fish and chips. It is obviously a christian tradition. This is how my mum makes hers. The chips will take longer to make, do them first, when about 5 minutes to go then start the peas, then once simmering do your fish

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Fish

Chips

Peas

  • 1 cup peas (approx)

To Serve

Directions

    for the chips.
  2. 2
    melt butter in a fry pan and fry until golden brown
  3. 3
    for the fish.
  4. 4
    place the egg, flour and breadcrumbs in seperate shallow bowls.
  5. 5
    lightly dip both sides of fish fillets in egg (use another egg if you run out).
  6. 6
    then gently lightly toss in flour.
  7. 7
    then gently cover in breadcrumbs.
  8. 8
    melt butter in frypan and fry until golden brown on both sides.

    place peas in pot and cover with water, bring to boil then simmer about 3-4 minutes.

    place fish on plate with chips and peas.

    place a wedge of lemon with each plate.

    place tartar sauce, ketchup and salt on the table.

    call family.

Good. Nice. GREAT....I liked it it was tasty and it had a combination of foods from all food gropups making it at least a little nutritious

    I halved the recipe , this was easy to do and was excelent.I used just the egg white as I had some waiting to be used.Definately a keeper. I didnt make the chips this time but I will make them next time.
