Maui Mai Tai Jell-O Shots

Recipe #179351 | 4½ hours | 30 min prep | add private note

By: Queer Eye in the Kitchen Guy
Jul 26, 2006

These are an experiment that was hugely successful! Even my 75 year old mother loves them! We had a hard time finding pineapple jell-o, but it's worth the effort. For the best results, put the rum in the 'fridge for an hour or two before making these. These are NOT for children!

SERVES 60 -75 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Pour jell-o into a LARGE bowl.
  2. 2
Add four cups boiling water and stir at least three minutes to disolve jell-o.
  3. 3
    Allow to cool.
  4. 4
Add the rum and almond extract to taste.
  5. 5
Pour into small cups, about 1 1/2 ounces per portion.
  6. 6
    Chill at least four hours.
  7. 7
    Enjoy!

These are incredible! I was at the party where they were served. They tasted just like an authentic Mai Tai. Make them and your guests will be impressed!
