After reading the reviews of this stew, I decided to try it but was disappointed at the lack of flavor. Even after adding beef base to the liquid, I found it to be quite blah.

YUMMY!!! This is an awesome recipe! I went home for lunch and threw it all together in less than 20 minutes and by the time I returned home from work... my house smelled wonderful! And oh, how sweet it is to have dinner ready and waiting for me! I did, however, only use 1 1/2 onions instead of 3. I also added a can of stewed tomatoes and a small can of tomato sauce (I didn't have any tomato soup). Either way, it was delicious and my entire family loved it! Even my son who complains about anything w/onions in it! Thank you for posting... we will definitely be using this recipe over and over again this winter!

This has everything a good stew should have. All of my favorite vegetables....and tomato soup base makes a wonderful combination. This is definately homestyle cooking that is irresistible. Thanks, MG, for sharing this keeper.
