Green Beans from a Can That Don't Taste Like It!

Recipe #162873 | 5 min | 5 min prep | add private note
mama's kitchen

As fast as you can heat a can of veggies you can have this special side ready to serve! I hate canned green beans yet this is one veggie my dd will eat without complaint. This forced me to find a way to make us both happy. Hope you enjoy this one!

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Heat entire contents of the canned green beans. Drain.
  2. 2
Place butter in the bottom of a serving bowl and add DRAINED green beans, stirring gently until butter is melted.
  3. 3
Sprinkle with parmesan (and thyme if using)and serve.
  4. 4
NOTE: This would work equally well on fresh or frozen green beans.

I made these for dinner tonight and didn't really measure the cheese, so I probably added more than a tablespoon and then did add some pepper. What a great way to spruce up canned green beans. I also heated the beans up for a minute after adding the cheese. Thanks Mama for a great recipe.

Pretty good. I used basil instead of thyme because that's what I had on hand. Still a little plain.

A real winner here! My whole family loves these beans. I've made this with canned, frozen & fresh green beans and no matter which it always tastes great. Sometimes I sub Italian seasoning for the Thyme. Thanks!!
