Great WW recipe from a meeting. 6 Points per serving.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup canned reduced-sodium chicken broth
  • tablespoons cornstarch
  • tablespoons sugar
  • tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • teaspoons peanut oil
  • medium scallion, chopped
  • medium garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, minced or 1 dried chili, minced
  • lb uncooked boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • cups cooked white rice, kept hot
  • Directions

    1. 1
      In a medium bowl, whisk together broth, cornstarch, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar and ginger; set aside.

      Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add scallions, garlic and pepper and cook 2 minutes. Add chicken and cook until browned all over, about 5 minutes.

      Add reserved sauce and simmer until sauce thickens and chicken is cooked through, about 3 minutes.

      Serve chicken and sauce over rice. Yields about 1 cup of chicken and sauce and 1/2 cup of rice per serving.

    I had never tried an asian type recipe at home before. This was my first attempt and it came out perfect. I loved this recipe. Followed the recipe exactly!! Thanks for posting this recipe.

    Another new family favorite. Based on other reviews I reduced the amount of cornstarch but found it too thin so I went ahead and added more using what was listed in the recipe and was very happy.

    This is one of the fastest and best recipes for General Tso's Chicken. I added an extra chicken breast, since we needed 5 servings and a little extra garlic but the recipe still makes more than enough sauce. This is my husbands favorite and couldn't believe it was a WW recipe!

    Excellent recipe! I was a bit concerned, having never successfully made Chinese food before, but this was easy. I will cut down the ginger a touch next time, and I added extra garlic. I reduced the amount of chicken a bit, and added broccoli in its place, and I really liked the result.
