Try other Spiced Italian Plums (Prunes) in Port recipes

This was a bit time consuming to make but the smell was wonderful. I didn't have whole cinnamon sticks so I used 1 tbsp ground cinnamon. I will come back and add a review when I taste these, but if the smell is any indicator of the flavoring I am in for a treat. Update: I didn't care for these right out of the can - I think it is the tawny port (strickly personal tastes) However I have used them to make "Grandma Geldner's Pflaum (Plum) Torte" and OMG so much better then just using regular prunes. I will can these again specifically to bake that torte - Thanks Mikekey

This recipe was very easy to make and made our house smell like Christmas in August. Thanks so much, because I had a huge box of plums that were going to go bad if I didn't can them!!! The yield was slightly higher when I made this--6 pounds of fruit made 8 pints...
