Peppermint Candy Cane Bark

Every Christmas my friends and family look forward to this in the cookie tins I make for all of them. They get very upset when I do not make this. It is so easy to make. However, you will want to give them away as soon as possible because they are very addicting.

SERVES 6 , 1 cookie sheet (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Melt white chocolate either in a double boiler or in a bowl over a pot of boiling water.

    Stir in crushed candy cane and peppermint flavoring into melted white chocolate.

    Line a 11x17" baking pan with wax paper.
  4. 4
    Pour and spread chocolate mixture onto wax paper.
  5. 5
    Chill until firm and break into pieces.
  6. 6
    Refrigerate until ready to serve.

This was a huge hit at Christmas. I put a dark choc. (mixed with peppermint extract) on the bottom and white choc. with the candy canes on top.

    Oh my gosh I halved the recipe and poured it into a big pan lined with parchment paper. I was worried it would spread out and be too thin, but it didn't- it only spread where I pushed/spread it. I was also worried because my smalltown grocery store was out of chocolate chips, so I had to use dipping chocolate. It still came out wonderful. It smells and tastes AMAZING and I'm sure will be gone very quickly! This is definitely the best taste-for-time-spent value candy I've ever made. THANKS!!

    I used 1 lb regular choc. chips and 1 lb white, and mixed half the extract with each (actually, I forgot to mix the extract in the white, but you can't tell.) I layered the chocolate on the bottom and then mixed the candy cames with the white and layered on top. I reserved some candy canes to decorate the top.

    I made this last year with Giaredelli white chocolate and put into mini muffin cups. (the tiny ones They were a big hit!
