Thanksgiving Turkeys (Cookies)

These are not made with real turkey, LOL! My mom made these for me when I was a kid and now I am able to make these with my daughter. Gotta love those family recipes! This is a fun recipe too to have your kids help you with! If you don't want to use peanut butter cups, my mom used to use the Brach's chocolate covered mints (not flat ones) but the ones that were shaped like pb cups.

SERVES 10 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Spread chocolate icing on sugar cookies.
  2. 2
    Unwrap peanut butter cups.
  3. 3
Place pb cup on lower half of frosted cookie.
  4. 4
Fan 5-6 candy corns (tip down) around top of pb cup to make the "feathers.".
  5. 5
Make the eyes and gobbler on the neck with the red gel icing.
  6. 6
    Enjoy!
  7. 7
NOTE: This recipe can be adjusted to make any quantity you need.

My children enjoyed putting these easy, tasty treats together to take to school to share for thanksgiving. Great Idea!

These were sooo Cute!! Thank You for a fun recipe. I used Granny's Sugar Cookies for the sugar cookies and everybody loved them, and we had so much fun making them, I think these will become a tradition in our house at Thanksgiving.

I just figured out that you can make them into Indian cookies too! Just put a smiley face on them instead of a turkey face, and the candies look like chief feathers(or you could put a frown-all in how you look at it though)!

I made these for my daughter's Thanksgiving feast at school. They turned out so cute. I made sugar cookies from a mix and used a large round cookie cutter. I also used a candy melt instead of peanut butter cups due to allergies. For the eyes, I used mini m&ms. Thanks for sharing!
