My new favorite c.c. cookie. This "makes about 4 dozen ly, chewy-crispy bakery-style chocolate chip cookies. They are wonderful!" Crispy the next day. Source: nielsenmassey.com shared by Renee Hartzler

    Heat oven to 350°.
  2. 2
    Mix butter, sugars, vanilla and eggs in large bowl.
  3. 3
    Stir in flour, soda, salt, baking powder and cream of tartar.
  4. 4
    Stir in chocolate chips.
  5. 5
    Drop with a #40 scoop (mini ice cream scooper) about 2" apart onto an ungreased baking sheet.

    Bake 12-15 minutes or until light brown.
  7. 7
    Cool slightly; remove from baking sheet. Cool on wire rack.

    verty good my neice and i made them. She wanted Double Chocolate so i added 1 tbsp of Coco to ithe batter and i only used 3 cups flour. But otherwise very good.

    I had been searching for this recipe for a long time. My mom's best friend used to make these around Christmas time when I was young. They are easy to make and the taste is undescribable, so my daughter says. I think it is the cream of tartar that gives the cookies the unique flavor.
