Berry & Banana Smoothie

Recipe #139955 | 5 min | 5 min prep | add private note
bluemoon downunder

By: bluemoon downunder
Oct 4, 2005

A scrumptious, low fat, low GI smoothie which I found in the October 2005 issue of the Australian magazine 'Delicious' and have adapted. Because it's different from other smoothies I've made, I have posted it here for safekeeping - and for the 2005 Zaar World Tour.

SERVES 2 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. 2
Pour the smoothie into 2 tall glasses and serve.

VERY, VERY NICE TASTING SMOOTHIE! Certainly different from what I usually put together, but very nice, still! I enjoyed the seeds & the evaporated milk as a nice change from the juices! Thanks for sharing a definite keeper! [Tagged, made & reviewed in Zaar Stars Tag Game]

A yummy smoothie. I substituted low-fat milk in place of the evaporated low-fat milk because I didn't have any on hand. Thanks for sharing!

I made as written, used a skim evaporated milk, and mixed frozen berries. I'm sorry but I didn't love this... It really could have been the evaporated skim milk I'm afraid I personally didn't care for. Also, I added 1/2 tsp of pumpkin seed oil, this also may have had an effect on my results. I imagine had I used regular milk I would have enjoyed this smoothie and will certainly give it another go.

This was a very nice breakfast. I only had frozen yogurt, so I used that. I had just bought a huge bag of frozen strawberries and I had a handfull of fresh strawberries. I had the sunflower seeds on the side. Healthy enough that no one can complain but something that will work well anytime. Yum. Maybe soon I'll try it with the icecream.
