Homemade "suddenly Salad"

Recipe #138528 | 18 min | 10 min prep | add private note
Wildflour

I used to love that stuff years ago. Here's how to make it even better homemade. (The bacon ranch one.)

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
In large bowl, mix mayo, dressing mix, bacon bits, shredded carrots and onion powder. Chill while making the rest.
  2. 2
Cook pasta according to pkg. directions for pasta using the shortest alotted time. (Or cook al dente.).
  3. 3
    Drain and cool.
  4. 4
Fold in pasta well. Fold in peas last, carefully.
  5. 5
    Chill for several hours.
  6. 6
    Serve chilled or room temperature.
  7. 7
Refresh salad if needed with a tiny bit of mayo, but it usually doesn't need it.
  8. 8
Garnish top with more bacon bits/pieces.

WOW! Perfect, no it's better than perfect. I will never go back to that nasty immitation stuff in the box. Brought this to a summer potluck and got RAVE reviews! Thank you for saving my budget with this low cost wonderful alternative to boxed food.

I have been in love with Suddenly Salad since 1997. It has been getting harder and harder to find it in the ranch and bacon flavor. This was PERFECT! I love it! I didn't have any bacon bits and it was still very good. This recipe could easily be adapted to include a number of different ingredients. Thanks!

How wonderful! I used to love those suddenly salad packages, too, and this was just like I remembered them to be. I have made two batches this last week. It is such a good thing to have in the fridge when you need to have a bite to eat on the run. A few capers add a nice touch or some sliced black olives. Thanks dear, I love it!

Wow! Good stuff! I used almost all the package of seasoning, left out the peas, (none of us are wild about peas) and I also added a little sour cream. (about a 4th of a cup - didn't measure)Very tasty and easy to make. Thanks!
