Very very good. The only issue I had was that I found the flavour of vanilla was a little too strong for our tastes, will halve it next time and will be making this pie for years to come. Thanks.

We really liked the creamy apple filling, and crunchy cinnamon topping. The only thing I will do different is to increase the amount of the filling by half to use three cups apples for a fuller pie. I'll make this again.

I made this apple pie with hesitation, as people always flip over my traditional apple pie. No need to worry though, actually dh said he ironically prefers this one. He said the cream layer really sets it off. I used pink lady apples, probably at least an extra cup of them, and added no additional sugar. Cooking time was about 2-3 minutes short of the 40 and 15 stated in the recipe, respectively and it came out perfect. Thanks Leslie for an enjoyable twist on the traditional.
