Lovely-also added a bit of onions. I grew up with my Dad making glazed carrots- similar just use brown sugar, carrots and sometmes onions, usually not though. Nice spin using the potatoes- I hadn't thought to try them.
Thank you! I have been looking at a few of your other recipes too!! YUMMY

These are like candied potatoes. The carmel tastes a lot like the toasted sugar topping on a creme brule. Great taste, but I think I would like this more with sweet potatoes or carrots. I also want to try this method with pineapple or cooked apples. Lots of possibilities. Thanks for sharing.

Such a great idea. It was like eating candy. I bet they would be very good made with yams.

Apart from adding a small sprinkling of salt to the pan, I made these exactly to Maité’s recipe and served them with her Scandinavian Cucumber salad Scandinavian Cucumbersalad and ncmysteryshopper’s Grilled Salmon With Dilled Mustard Glaze Grilled Salmon With Dilled Mustard Glaze. A delicious Scandinavian meal made for the 2005 Zaar World Tour. If you haven’t tried potatoes cooked like this and you love potatoes, give them a try! I was serving four, and fortunately anticipated that these would be popular so I made one and a half times the quantity specified in the recipe. Everyone just LOVED them and cleaned up the lot! When making these, be careful to follow Maité’s instructions not to overcrowd the pan so that the potatoes are evenly covered with the caramelised sauce. The only thing I am going to do differently next time is to add some chopped onions. Caramelised onions which everyone is probably far more familiar with than caramelised potatoes would be delicious with these, and make a great side dish for roasted, grilled or BBQd meats. Thank you Maité for such a simple yet scrumptious recipe which I know I’ll be making again and again, because I loved it – and by popular demand!
