I make these quite often at my get togethers, everyone loves them! you may double all ingredients if desired, if you are doubling the ingredients, I suggest to just start with 2 tablespoons hot sauce and add more to reach the desired heat, I have even prepared these on the grill instead of the broiler and then finished cooking them in the oven with the sauce, another idea is you may cook the wings hours in advance or even a day ahead cool slightly and just leave them in the fridge overnight, then the following day just coat them in the hot sauce and then bake them in the oven, you may even prepare the hot sauce a day ahead in fact it tastes even better if prepared in advance just refrigerate overnight, preparing the wings and the sauce in advance is a great time saver if you are making them for a crowd ---this is one of the best recipes for hot wings!

Prepare the wings on a shallow cookie sheet that is lined with foil, and spray with a non-stick cooking spray, or prepare a broiler pan.

Arrange the wings evenly in a single layer.
  4. 4
Place under the broiler until lightly browned (watch closely to not burn the wings) set wings aside.
  5. 5
In a saucepan combine all sauce ingredients, and bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes (adjust the hot pepper sauce to suit taste).

Up to this point, all above can all be prepared a day in advance and refrigerated.

  8. 8
Using long tongs, dip each wing in the hot sauce, and place evenly on a greased baking sheet.

  10. 10
To crisp up the wings, place under broiler for a couple of minutes.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the flavor of these wings. They were even easy to make. This is the first time I have ever made my own hot wings and I was really impressed with how they came out. It was not nearly spicy enough for our liking, though. In fact, it didn't really feel spicy at all. That is the only reason I haven't given this 5 stars. The flavor was amazing and I would absolutely recommend them to everyone. Just add about 3 times the amount if you want to feel a little heat at the end. Thanks for a great recipe, KITTENCAL!!

These were really good. I made about 8 pounds of these wings and they were all devoured by the kids I was making dinner for. They were mildly spicy, enough to give great flavor, but mild enough so that everyone could enjoy them. The folks that wanted the heat just put extra hot sauce on them. I didn't have any fresh garlic so I did use garlic powder. The group I was cooking for asked "who is this KittenCal person? she has great recipes!"

Hi KITTENCAL; Made these Fantastic Spicy Wings yesterday. Your combination of condiments was SUPERB and brought out the spicy, flavorous, savorous, aromatic and appetizing chicken that I have had in a long time. I doubled the amount of garlic cloves as I like the garlicky taste. I placed the wings and drumettes in a casserole dish, poured the Sauce over and baked them for 30 minutes at 375 F. Then took them out of the oven and crisped them under the broiler. Oh WOW, delicious, will be making them again for the weekend. Thanks for sharing this recipe. "Uncle Bill"

Scrumptious. is the only word. This is a marvelous blend of spices. I did not change a thing but did use chicken thighs instead. I prefer them to wings. I actually made the sauce a bit to thick, was still good, but will certainly keep it thinner next time. thanks for a wonderful meal. I enjoined this with the eggplant Spicy Eggplant (Aubergine) for a total meal along with toasted Russian Rye bread. Dipping it into the Eggplant dish occasionally Thanks for a winner
