Recipe #122101 | 30 min | 15 min prep | add private note

By: Lici
May 16, 2005

I found this recipe online a couple of years ago and loved it. These cookies are very moist and delicious. They aren't at all "pumpkiny" and not too sweet.

5 dozen (change servings and units)

Ingredients

vanilla glaze

Directions

  1. 1
    Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. 2
Combine flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a medium sized bowl.
  3. 3
Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Beat in canned pumpkin, eggs and vanilla.
  4. 4
    Gradually beat in flour mixture.
  5. 5
Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
  6. 6
Drop rounded tablespoons onto greased cookie sheets.
  7. 7
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned on edges.
  8. 8
Let sit for a few minutes then cool on a wire rack.
  9. 9
Drizzle with Vanilla Glaze when cookies are completely cooled.
  10. 10
Vanilla Glaze: Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Add less or more milk depending on the consistency you want.

I'm reviewing the glaze for this recipe. It couldn't be easier - came together in a snap with items I always, always, always have in the pantry. It was a delicious topping on Mbatata (Sweet Potato) Cookies. Thank you so much for posting!

This is an awesome cookie and everyone asked for the recipe. We loved the combination of pumpkin and the chocolate chips. The glaze added an extra "wow" factor. This is a keeper, Lici!!!
