Ingredients
- 4 lbs lean ground beef
- 1/2 onion, chopped fine
- 1-2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons ground cumin
- 6 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 cups water
- 1 (1 1/4 ounce) package chili seasoning mix
Directions

Brown ground beef in skillet and drain fat.2
Add all ingredients and combine in crockpot, stirring to mix thoroughly.3
Cook on high for 2 hours.4
Stir well, reduce heat to LOW and continue cooking for 6-8 more hours.5

I had to double up on the recipe for a large work function. I thought the taste was a little bland, needed more tomato flavor. To me it tasted a little dry and chalky. For timing reasons I had to leave it on low overnight, perhaps that had an effect. Probably wouold try another recipe next time.

I have to second this — I went to school at Georgia Tech, and I practically lived off the Varsity. All I need now is a recipe for Varsity Whipped Oranges!
