For authentic flavor, top each serving with dill pickles and mustard! This recipe freezes well.

This was OK. It didn't taste like White Castle at all though. My family and I found it too salty. It definitely needed the mustard and pickles. This would probably have gone over better if it was not called White Castle because you are expecting one thing but get another.

My DH loves this, so I make it for an occasional treat. I do, however, make a LOT of adjustments to make it less fattening. I use lean ground beef (and rinse it with hot water from a teakettle in a colander after cooking to further reduce the fat.) I use EggBeaters, low fat mayonnaise, fat free half and half, and low fat or fat free cheddar cheese, as well. While this may sound like it would ruin the recipe, we both still find it quite tasty.

Loved it!! O.M.G.-I've had this recipe on my meal plan for so long and I was afraid to try it- now I just feel stupid! It was sooo good!! It tasted just like White Castle burgers. I was hesitent to make it because I do the low carb thing & my bf doesn't so I didn't think he'd like it but he just raved about it (of course, I had to make him french fries to go with it & drooled the whole time but...). I used fresh diced onions instead of the soup mix and I think they made the recipe. So, if you have them on hand-try it with them instead. This was a wonderful, quick & easy recipe Mercy-thank you for sharing!!
