Living in Kansas City, we have a wide range of BBQ joints to choose from, but our favorite has always been Oklahoma Joe's in the heart of KC! This is a mixture of flavors - sweet, peppery and spicy. You'll love it!

It could have used a little more spice for my taste, but was great nonetheless. One quick slathering of Stubbs BBQ sauce toward the end of the cook time made these ribs fantastic.

I used this recipe to rub onto the ribs I threw into the slow cooker last night. I had A LOT of ribs so I doubled the recipe, but later noticed I switched over teaspoons to tablespoons also. I still only had a little bit left tho. The only thing I omitted was the white pepper, as I had none, and I threw an extra teaspoon of black in since white is usually a more mild pepper taste and putting an extra 2 tablespoons would have changed the taste dramatically. After a night in the crock pot, and getting slathered in Sweet Baby Rays and baked you could still taste the rub, especially where the BBQ sauce was sparse. I will be using this recipe again.

I gave this recipe 3 stars. This was the first rub I've ever made and the first time we ever grilled ribs. I made this rub for pork ribs. My future hubby really liked this recipe. I thought it was good and but a bit spicy for me. My 5 yrs old newphew didn't like it. I did serve my ribs with Jack Daniels hickory bbbq sauce on the side. Overall this was a good rub and we will use it again. Thanks so much for posting a good recipe. Christine (internetnut)

This will be replacing all other rubs for our ribs from now on. Thanks for sharing!
