I saw this on Sara's Secrets and couldn't wait to try it! The sauce brings out the sweetness in the fish. Enjoy!

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Stir together balsamic vinegar, water, lemon juice, and brown sugar in a small bowl.
  2. 2
Pat salmon dry and season with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium high heat, not smoking. Increase heat to high, add salmon skin side up, and sear until well browned, about 4 minutes. Turn fish over and sear until just cooked through, 3 to 4 minutes more.
  3. 3
Transfer salmon to plates and carefully add vinegar mixture to skillet (liquid will bubble vigorously and steam). Simmer, stirring, until thickened and reduced to about 1/3 cup, about 2 minutes. Spoon glaze over salmon. Serve and enjoy!

Awesome, Sharon! I loved how quick this was to throw together and with all ingredients I'd have on hand. I tossed in a few mushrooms along with it and bam! Dinner's done! Thanks!

My bf says this was yummy...and he's a pretty picky eater. Absolutely fantastic. I seared it for six minutes on each side.

Very good the sauce was perfect in taste. I did add a teaspoon of corn starch mixed with a little white wine to thicken it. You may need to cook the salmon about 6 min per side.

***** I am only able to rate the sauce ~ The sauce is a glorious 5 stars! I had begun a different recipe when I discovered I did not have one of the main ingredients, so immediately went searching for another recipe for salmon. I used this recipe for the sauce, doubling it (it is excellent!). I hope to make the rest of this recipe so I will be able to give it the proper credit due : ) Loved it! Will definitely make again. Thanks, Sharon, for saving our supper!
