The Perfect Marinade for Grilled Steak

The ingredients and amounts to this marinade will produce the most tender and not to mention the best tasting steak! --- just remember to bring the steaks to almost room temperature before grilling, this is very critical step to relax the meat fibers, this might take a few hours depending on the size of your steaks so plan ahead --- I like to flavor my steaks with Montreal Steak Seasoning but you may use a seasoning of choice --- the amounts may be doubled but keep the garlic at the same amount, for best results it is recommended to not substitute any ingredients ---this may be used for any cut of steaks or beef

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 4 steaks, 1- 1-1/2-inch thick (preferably New York Strip)

MARINADE

Directions

    Mix all the marinade ingredients together in a bowl.
  2. 2
    Pour over steaks.
  3. 3
    Cover tightly and place the steaks in the refrigerator for minimum 4 hours or even better for 24 hours.

    Remove the steaks from the fridge.
  5. 5
    Bring to ALMOST room temperature before grilling (this is an important step and might take a couple of hours).
  6. 6
    Season steaks with steak seasoning or seasoning of choice if desired.
  7. 7
    Grill for 6-12 minutes, turning 4 times, or oven-broil to desired doneness.

Great recipe, have used it frequently for pork chops as well as steaks. I also use this for venison steak and tenderloin but I add a couple tablespoons of brown sugar and dried red chile flakes to taste. The brown sugar really helps cut the "gamey" taste.

    Just as the name says, this is absolutely wonderful and so tasty, perfect marinade for steak!! Our grocery store had sirloin steaks on sale this week and I was able to get a large steak about 2 1/2 inches thick. I served it with twice baked potatoes and your Kittencal's Famous Caesar Salad. Thanks for sharing!! Made for zaar stars tag.
