Try other Apple Butter recipes

So I madeCrock Pot Apple Butter first and thought I was in heaven; well, turns out, this recipe tops it in my book
I loved the addition of the vinegar--I used Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar (I think it is the best apple cider vinegar out there), and it added such a depth of flavor that was not there in the crockpot apple butter recipe (although that one was very good as well!).
I used Granny Smith, MacIntosh, Red Delicious and Fuji apples, 3 large apples of each kind, and found that it filled my 4 qt. pot quite nicely. I used 3 cups of Splenda and 2 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. I cooked it on the highest setting for two hours without the lid on, then on the lowest setting overnight, for eight hours. It is fantastic.
Thank you so much Brenda--top notch!

This apple butter recipe is awesome. I just made my fourth batch of it since Christmas of 2004. I followed the recipe ingredients exactly, using approximately eight pounds of Granny Smith apples to fill my four quart crock pot as directed in the recipe. I cooked the apples on high for 10 hours, added the sugar and spices and cooked an additional four hours on low. All cooking was done with the lid on. The results were 5 1/4 pints of "to die for" apple butter. The sweetness is just right and the consistancy is moderately thick. It is wonderful slathered on toast, bagels, and english muffins. Thanks Brenda
