Recipe #113542 | 55 min | 10 min prep | add private note
Marsha D.

I saw this recipe on Paula Deen and gave it a try and it's the best baked beans I have ever eaten. I did replace a few ingredients to suit my style.

SERVES 8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. 2
In a large bowl combine first seven ingredients, stir well.
  3. 3
Lightly spray Pam in a medium size casserole dish and pour in bean mixture.
  4. 4
Place slices of bacon over top of beans.
  5. 5
    Cover and bake 30 minutes.
  6. 6
Uncover and bake extra 15 minutes.
  7. 7
Note: You can drain one can of pork & beans to keep it from having too much liquid in dish.

5 Star all the way!!! I did not change anything. Baked Beans with Ribs and Potato Salad for the 4th of July. My family loved every bite of the Baked Beans. I will be making these over and over. Thank You for a wonderful recipe. Hugs

I have to disagree with many of these reviews. This recipe was way, way, way too sweet. I should have realized - 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/4 maple syrup. Too much for us. lees.

These are excellent baked beans - quick, easy to throw together after work and really tasty. I did drain one of the cans and otherwise followed the recipe as written (except I had regular bacon). Next time I will drain both cans as they were a bit soupy for my taste (I like thick baked beans). It fit perfect in a 1.5-qt dish. Thanks for posting Marsha!

This is my new baked beans recipe from now on! We use the precooked real bacon bits. Simple, and fabulous...what more could you ask for?
