A sublime rich tasting creamy chocolate sorbet which is dairy free. I had it in a very expensive restaurant in Spain where it was served with a very intensively vanilla ice cream and it was to die for. In fact the whole meal was to die for - and we nearly did when the bill arrived!8

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Cooking time is freezing time.
  2. 2
Combine all but vanilla in a saucepan.
  3. 3
Heat on medium, stirring frequently, until the mixture reaches a boil.
  4. 4
Turn off heat, and stir in vanilla.
  5. 5
    Chill.
  6. 6
You can either put in an ice cream maker or not.
  7. 7
If you do not have one then stir the mixture 2 or 3 times whilst it is freezing.
  8. 8
(I do not have one and it is still fantastic).

What a simple, sinful recipe!! It couldn't be any easier. When I first tasted it I thought it might need more sugar, but after a few spoonfuls it hit me and it's fine as is. Thanx!!

I've died and gone to chocolate heaven! It tastes like rich dark chocolate and is so easy to make. Wonderful served with vanilla icecream.

Intense is right! If this doesn't momentarily cure yoru chocolate cravings, nothing will. A thousand thank-you's for this one. I can see how this would complement a vanilla flavor or, as my intended use, with some wine and berries for Valentines day. A very elegant, sophisticated flavor that costs very little. A word of advice for dieters- I initially used strictly Splenda, which did not work at all, the Splenda taste was overpowering. However, I tried it again with 1/2 c. Splenda and 1/2 c. sugar and it turned out beautifully; just the right amount of everything. I also used the Hershey's Dark Cocoa powder and it was wonderful! I now offically have a reason to use my ice cream maker in the dead of winter!
