This recipe is what has been used in my family since I was old enough to eat banana bread. It tastes really good! I like to add vanilla, cinnamon and/or nutmeg to mine.

SERVES 8 , 1 loaf (change servings and units)

Directions

  1. 1
    Mix all ingredients together.
  2. 2
Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan.
  3. 3
Bake in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean (about 45 minutes).

After trying several, I came across this recipe and haven't gone for a different one since. I usually use SmartBalance instead of butter, and use the recommended spices. Sometimes I also sweeten it up with chocolate chips.

I made this without any other the suggested spice additions.......I only noticed those after it was in the oven! Anyhow, this was delicious, a lovely texture and very simple to make. Thanks for the recipe!

This is wonderful! In addition to these ingredients, I added 1/2 tsp. cinnamon powder and 1 tsp. of vanilla essence. This went very well Thanks for sharing!
