This was one of the best cake recipes ever!! You really need to let it set overnight-I tried it after 3 hours and it tasted like spongecake-tasted it again the next day and it was like a whole different cake-awesome! I did double on the cool whip and pudding mix for icing-Everyone loved it!

So good! And it really does taste like a dreamsicle! This is the easiest dessert and perfect for any occasion. Only change I made was to use French vanilla pudding mix, just because it had it on hand. By the way, the orange jello adds moistness but it does not make the cake wet. Thanks, Marsha, for sharing your recipe!

My mom used to make something like this in different flavors when I was a kid. My kids loved this and want me to make it again. I couldn't find orange cake mix so used lemon and it worked out fine. Thanks for reminding me of this recipe so I could make it for my kids.
