Cheating Scalloped Potatoes

Bergy

I know puritans will scream "You can't do this, It's not right etc. etc." But if you are in a hurry and want delicious scalloped potatoes take this shortcut. If you wish you can put some cheddar cheese on top for the last 15 min and add a few extra mushrooms

These were Awesome!! My go to recipe for sure now. My husband didn't think they would be good because he only like's the boxed kind but I figured i would try my hand at them, and I am so glad I did. Never going back to the box kind! I didn't use as many onions as asked for and I also omitted the butter and it didn't make a bit of difference. Also I didn't put any cheese on top, simply because we were out but I may try it with next time.

thank you, thank you, thank you! I never made scalloped potatoes before, except for the box mixes, but have wanted to for a while! This recipe, although it might be cheating a little...was perfect! I've done it 3 times, the first exactly as written, except for omitting the onions and adding cheddar cheese to the top. The 2nd time, I added cheese to the first and thrid layers and onions to the middle layer. The 3rd time, I made it a meal, by only doing 2 layers of potatoes, and putting a layer of cooked ground turkey in between the two layers, added cheese to the top of the taters. Thanks again for a great recipe!!! I'd be surprised if it's not used weekly in our home!

This was really good Bergy! I have to admit, I added a lot of cheese on top, so it became Scalloped/Au Gratin! Thanks for a great recipe!
