The Best Shredded Chicken (Crock Pot)

A friend gave me this recipe and it's now one of our favorites! It's sooo easy and tastes amazing!

Ingredients

  • lbs chicken breast
  • 1 (16 ounce) jar 505 medium hot salsa (or other brand if your store doesn't carry 505)
  • 2 serrano pepper, chopped
  • cloves garlic, pressed
  • packet mccormick taco seasoning
  • Directions

    1. 1
      Combine all ingredients in crock pot and cook for 10 1/2 hours.

      To shred chicken, remove from crock pot and use 2 forks to pull apart.

      Very easy!

      Put shredded chicken back in sauce to keep moist.

      Serve burrito style or over rice.

    My hubby and I love this recipe! We've made it several times now. It freezes well and reheats easily--great for a quick weeknight dinner.

    This was very easy and the chicken stayed moist. I actually trippled the recipe and it was awesome! I used it tonight for chicken enchiladas and it worked great.I will freeze some and use for many other recipes. Thanks Denver Chef!

    EXCELLANT-I brought this to a potluck-everyone went wild over it-wish I brought the recipe because everyone wanted it. Very tender and flavorful!

    Dever Chef boy was this YUMMY! It was perfect for a Saturday night meal. I loved that everything was dumped into the crockpot and I had the day to me! I got a late start so I started out cooking on high for 2 hours and then cut back to low for 4. The chicken was so moist! I did add a couple of bay leaves, worchestershire sauce, and some cumin to the recipe. After I shredded the chicken I put it back in the crockpot for the last hour to absorb the flavors. This smelled sooooooooooooo good. My neighbors wanted to know what I was cooking lololol. We had ours on Kaisar rolls. I will make again.
