Snickers Caramel Apple Salad

Recipe #105580 | 15 min | 15 min prep | add private note

By: Patti Cake
Dec 7, 2004

I first sampled this salad at a chili cook-off - perfect! This is a real hit at fall parties. I like to use a mix of green and red apples.

SERVES 12 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Garnish for extra flair

Directions

  1. 1
Mix cool whip and dry pudding mix together.
  2. 2
    Chop apples and chilled Snickers.
  3. 3
    Mix together.
  4. 4
Heat caramel sauce a bit in the microwave- just enough to drizzle, not enough to heat up salad.
  5. 5
Drizzle caramel sauce over salad and sprinkle peanuts on top.
  6. 6
Chill for at least an hour-- Voila!

I made this for a party and I used the Carmel Apple Dip for the extra flair and it was just absolutely awesome. People were trying to sneak the remaining leftovers out the door. I had to hide it. LOL. I was really suprised that the next day it was still fresh. I highly recommend this for any get together.

Fabulous salad! I followed it exactly except I didn't toss everything. I layered the cool whip pudding mix with the apples and snickers in a large glass trifle dish. Beautiful! So tasty!! Next time I might try with Mars bars and sliced almonds instead of peanuts for a different flavor.

I made this without the "extra flair" and it turned out great. Very kid friendly! Also I was impressed that there was no "weeping" of the salad as I made it the night before and the next day there was no extra moisture - a nice plus! Thanks for a tasty treat!
